wow..everything is happening so fast and also very seamless which we are so greatful for!!
Today was a big day in the whole big picture and we officially have Amaya
as ou own now!!
The Giving and Receiving ceremony is where the Vietnam official but the seal of approval on all our documents and we also promise to give them update yearly on Amaya...and how she is doing in our country..with photos please.
It was great to share this with other parents as well as two others who have been
fast friends since our arrival...Loan AND Catherine from B.C..Vancouver actually.
Anyways they were there for the whole signing and photos and just support.
Normally this ceremony is weeks from arrival date but ours seemed to be fast track so we are able to get our Canadain passport .
Amaya will actually have two passports..Vietnamese one to exit and a temporary
Canaian one to enter.
I wore the traditional Vietnamese outfitl ..which was made 4 years ago from our previous visit to Vietnam.It seemed only fitting to honor the occassion in full
fashion..it is a white and pink silk with handmade buttoms attachments .
Amaya wore a new white french cotton embroidary dress which we bought
yesterday for the ceremony.
WE celebrated out on the town in a beautiful resort restaurant overlooking the sea
with gentle breezes as we ate incrediable seafood...Amaya 1st experience on the water and also had her feet in the pool which was in the restaurant area.
For Amaya she is soaking in so many new things and she is such a delight.She continues to charm us with her smiles and turned up nose face..and she is so sweet with a twist of attitude...!!!
She is always looking around taking it in from the view of our sling.(mine)
or daddy's carrier.
She seems to love sleeping in both of ur arms as we carry on with business..lunch
or walking....and she has slept fpor the whole nite two days in a row!!!
WHAT else could you ask for....she does fuss/cry just before nite sleep..but after 15 mins she seems to fall asleep as we gentling pat her back..and rock her standing up.
SHE IS on bottles still...so i have tried bananas and will start some soft solids
a little at a time..no need to chg to much to so.
i will attempt to get some photos in of the ceremony and the orphange ASAP
WE have had Amaya 2 days now and it seems like we have always had her with us...W e are alsoaware that it hasn't always been easy for some parents to bond but we feel already..that Amaya is happy and very much adjusted.
Actually at the orphange..the nounous who are nanny's..kept putting thier hands out to pick her up and she wouldn't go.
I think they thought this was funny but it made me aware that Amaya felt safe
with me..
I can't tell you what a amazing father Marien is going to be..he just stepped right in getting bottles ready..bathing..cooing with her and just so helpful!
Actually he put her to bed last nite..And it is hard when she cries and he had all the patience in the world
i think we will take turns in the evening so she gets use to both of us equally.
we are so loving vietnam..our baby amaya and having this huge 2 bdrm apt near the beach
Yes... we chg our minds and left Siagon..after spending one night here in Vung Tau
.with the beach walking distance and the accomdations so much better..bigger
and cheaper we canclled our 10 days ..and we will be here staying at Residence Binh An...they are basically modern apt with washing machines..full kitchen..2 bathrooms..2 bedrooms and all the conveniences we need.
For those who need to stay to do paperwork in Saigon..you can just take the ferry/hydo foil over..takes 1 1/2 hrs ...costing 9.00 cad each way.
So Marien is in Saigon now doing some embassy stuff and only one parent was needed so i'm here with Amaya..she is sleeping now..for 2 hours and this is why
i'm able to write in blog.
Anyways..Catherine ..B.C gal has been living here a month..i think she paid approx 10.00/day for monthly rate in a small 1 bedroom..ours is 40.00/cad/nite for the 2 bedrm.
